With the threat of Covid-19 educators are exploring technology to keep students learning and meeting their goals.
I am excited to offer online piano and theory lessons at this time. I am discovering many benefits to online learning. Students can be warmed up and prepared before the lesson begins, they are also in the comfort of their own home. Lessons can be recorded and links and whiteboard screens can be shared. We can even do a virtual recital at the end of the year using Zoom. Students can also ‘check in’ between lessons if they have questions or need theory marked. All this can be done simply with a phone, tablet, or laptop. Students are very quick with new apps and online learning. I am enthusiastic about this new adventure in teaching music.
